What to expect prior to delivery

When your order has been manufactured as is ready to ship, we will be in touch to give you the options for shipping rates and dates. At this point we will advise on the best course of action to suit you and your availability.

(There are different shipping routes, lines, transit times, etc.)

Two weeks prior to delivery you will receive an invoice for the balance payment. This will be adjusted up or down to account for the difference between the estimated shipping rate used for the quote and the actual rate. Once this invoice has been paid, we will be able to clear the container through Customs, etc. and deliver it.

What to expect on delivery

Once your order is on the water it's time to get excited! We will have an arrival date and be able to book the road haulage to you.

One the day of delivery your container will be delivered on an articulated lorry for you to unload.

Unloading your container

It is best to assume that you will not be given any help by the lorry driver, although most are very helpful, or can be bribed with a cuppa!

You will need a forklift, pallet truck and two people to unload the container. Whilst it may appear daunting, it is straightforward like most things when you know how and will likely take you an hour, give or take half an hour.

The first couple of pallets you will be able to directly fork out of the container, as they will be loaded right up to the doors. For the rest of the pallets, you will need to use your forklift to lift the pallet truck and put it in the container. Once the pallet truck is in the container, you can use it to manoeuvre the other pallets to the door way and fork them off.

Technically you only have two hours to unload the container before you start being charged around £50 / hour. That said, we always try to arrange your delivery first thing in the morning, that way you will be the first job of the day, which takes the pressure off as they normally arrive early, giving you more time.
